The Hoddesdon Players have been performing plays in Hoddesdon since 1898 and we continue to delight audiences at the Spotlight theatre (formally known as the Broxbourne Civic Hall) with two plays per year usually in April and November. In addition there is usually a revue of sketches and songs performed to lighten the dark months of January and February!

Our aim is always to produce plays that are popular with the Hoddesdon audiences and also provide a challenge to our members. We have a full and varied programme of play-readings and social events throughout the year and new members are always welcome. We rehearse at St. Catherine’s School, Hoddesdon on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

New members will receive a warm welcome and if you are interested in any aspect of drama; not just acting but scene building, costumes, behind-the-scenes or just making the tea, please contact us by phone or email, details are below.

Our next production is ‘The 39 Steps’ adapted by Patrick Barlow from the novel by John Buchan and is a fast-paced whodunit for anyone who loves the magic of theatre! This award-winning treat is packed wth non-stop laughs. May 16th to 10th at the Spotlight theatre.
